20/49 Classic Car Club Returns to Rutland

15 June 2018
On 7th June I visited the Rutland village of Barrowden for the return of the annual 20/49 Car Club which I have visited for many years. My mother grew up in Barrowden and my father's and brother's hobby involves doing-up classic cars, so this event is quite the family affair!

The popular annual event returns with car enthusiasts gathering to appreciate vintage motoring.
On the first Thursday in June the 20/49 Car Club visits Barrowden with club members and local residents - including my family - join in and bring along their classic and vintage vehicles. The FREE entry event gives you and your family a chance to take a step back in time and admire many variations of vintage/classic cars and vehicles. Originally, the club gathered vehicles from 1920 to 1949 however, vehicles from 1920 to 1981 with everything from Jaguars to Porsches, tractors and campervans, motorcycles and mopeds!

The event attracts many locals and car enthusiasts and it's amazing how many people attend that haven't visited Barrowden before, bringing new people to the stunning village and of course, the pub! The Exeter Arms is run by the Wade family and open Tuesdays to Sundays and they host many events of their own so be sure to check out their website.

I captured a few photographs from the evening which was a huge success!
Take a look and step back in time for a few minutes...
