About: If you love tea, or dancing or cream teas, this is the event for you! We've joined forces with a student called Jo to help her raise money for her trip to Japan to teach English. What better way to fuse cultures than with a joint love of tea? Your ticket will welcome you into a traditional Japanese tea ceremony, a tasting of teas from around the world, and a Tea Dance - you'll learn some basic steps to a waltz, a tango and a Charleston (or you can just watch others dance if that all sounds a bit energetic). Your ticket includes a cream tea, served by our lovely neighbour Kavanagh's Tearoom, or you can upgrade your ticket to a Cherry Blossom ticket and have an afternoon tea with delicious sandwiches and cakes as well as your scone. Bring your purses, as Prosecco will also be on sale, and you will have the chance to buy the teas you've tried.
"There are two ticket prices dependant upon what afternoon tea you want i.e. cream tea on its own
plus you will see a Japanese tea ceremony performed by Buddha Maitreya (Pure Land Japanese Garden Nr Newark) which is rare and expensive to see.
The Charleston, Waltz and Tango performed and you can choose to join in and learn as well." - Caroline
