On 25th June we headed down to the stunning venue that is, Normanton Park Hotel for the first ever, Nicole Hope Smith Wedding Fayre. The fayre was full of all your wedding planning essentials and local companies and businesses to meet that might just be the ones to contribute to your big day, such as; wedding photographers, wedding cake creators, dress makers, floral wedding bouquets, videographers, makeup artists and much more...

I met Nicole a few months earlier at The Falcon in Uppingham to chat about her new wedding fayre venture. Upon meeting Nicole (24), her passion for the wedding planning business was clear. Also a wedding singer (website here), she really does know her stuff about the industry and her idea for creating Rutland based wedding fayres for local bride and grooms was inspiring to hear about, and to see it in the flesh on 25th June was breathtaking.

The fayre hosted 15 to 20 exhibitors featuring; Wedding planning company Allensis, wedding stationery by Bottlecap Creative, wedding photography by Gemma Willis, floristry by Pollen, pyrotechnic displays by ARA, bouquets by Forever Bouquets, makeup artist Rebecca Chantrell, dress designers Anna Couture Boutique, wedding transport by Mr Vintage Cars, classical guitarist Steve Bean, music and disco design by Revolution, wedding cakes by Michelle, photographers MG Photographic.

Having been to wedding fayres as a bridesmaid in the past, they can sometimes be quite daunting and borderline chaos. However, Nicole and her team designed a stress-free, calming and spacious fayre at Normanton Park Hotel. It made browsing an ease, and you were able to take your time and see everything as well as speak to each exhibitor, talk about your day, see their work and find the right person for you.

Also exhibiting (and filming the day) was Chris Parker, a professional wedding videographer. Nicole has organised for Chris and his team to film the first of the Nicole Hope Smith Wedding Fayre empire at Normanton Park Hotel, and here is the finished video.
The video shows the calm and beautifully designed fayre, with all the exhibitors. It also gives you a chance to meet the brains behind the business, Nicole Hope Smith.

Thank you for inviting me to your first wedding fair, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Tell me more about the story behind the launch of Nicole Hope Smith Wedding Fayres?
Doing my first wedding fayre was definitely a daunting prospect at first, being answerable to the venue and all the exhibitors is a big responsibility, which I don't take lightly but seeing all the planning and preparation coming to fruition was such an over whelming feeling. I'm a people person, always have been, and have always had the sharp attention to detail, which is so essential in this industry and having met so many great people, who shared my passion, along the way and getting to know them and working alongside them has been amazing.

Tell us the kind of experience and Day brides and grooms to-be can expect from your fayres?
Our wedding fayres are the perfect size to talk to each of our trusted exhibitors. Get to know what they are about and if they would be suited to your wedding day. We always have a beautiful venue and exhibitors from florists to classic cars or venue dressers to candy carts. We meet and greet everyone with a welcome pack and a glass of prosecco and have a look around at your own leisure.

You've recently launched NHSWF, please tell me more about you, Nicole?
Another passion of mine is songwriting. I usually spend a few days a week in London working with songwriters, musicians and producers! I have always had a love for singing, since an early age, which was the driving force behind becoming a wedding singer and the infectious positivity, which is always in abundance at weddings and wedding fayres particularly, is what led me to pursue the wedding path/business further. In time, I hope to progress to wedding planning and I'm currently building a portfolio of reliable and creative contacts to help make that a reality.

Have you always dreamed of owning your own business?
I have always dreamt of owning my own business and it started a few years ago when I became a wedding singer (website here). So to finally get NHSWF off the ground has been such an amazing experience, I am so aware of how daunting it can be to plan a wedding, it is almost impossible to know where to start, so I hope that we can bring a sense of ease to finding what you need for your perfect day.

Currently, all NHSWF are located in Rutland & Lincolnshire. We are however looking to expand in the future.
